MARANA SAUSAN ("Mar"), sired by PRINCE CHARMMING and out of "Dreams", was our third filly to arrive at Circle Double L Stables in the spring of 1996. She marked our very first artificial insemination. WAS THAT EXCITING! We had long before chosen Prince Charmming as the sire and contacted his owners in South Carolina. Ede researched all winter and determined the best, safest delivery methods, contacted vets on both sides of the border, talked to customs officials, and monitored "Dreams' " cycles down to the day. "Mar" was, and is, exquisite. A liver chestnut sire and dam, she carries their colouring and her mother's face "chrome." She has reached the age of breeding now, and we are carefully planning future foals from her.

Ede had the rare privilege of seeing "Mar" born.

Our amateur photography does not do her head justice. (We hope to update photos soon.)

"Mar's" beauty, as a result of her ancestry, is best described by Robert Vavra, renowned equine photographer, when he wrote about her sire PRINCE CHARMMING in his book "Horses of the Sun - A Gallery of the World's Most Exquisite Equines":

Prince Charmming's color alone attracted my attention, for I had never photographed a horse with his particular striking attributes - a rich chocolate-bronze body set off by flaxen mane and tail. But in all honesty, his classic Egyptian beauty alone would have caused me to attempt to bring him together with my camera.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER!
